If you want to make it harder, fertilize the tree within frost, or when it is maturing. Peach farming require pruning so that you get ideal growth every year.
You can thin fruits with up to 8 inches apart in branches, it will increase the size of fruit. If you want to increase resistance towards pests, make sure to prune it, thin fruit, and pick when ripen.
