Mango Farming is one of the major trades that India has superiority over. It is considered as the king of fruits because of its sweet and mouthwatering taste. Planting young Mango Farming Trees
Mango tree is a deep rooted plant that can become quite large in time. Mango trees need three years to be fully mature to produce fruit. There are many varieties so it is better to choose one that is suitable based on your zone. This plant can survive in any type of soil, just soil need to be well drained. Tree need to be placed where there is high sun exposure, and protection from cold is highly recommended. Planting can be done in late winter or in early spring.
Prepare the soil by digging hole that is as big as the size of root. You can fill the hole with water and see how much time it takes to drain. This plant can survive flood, but high quality product can be cultivated where soil condition is good. You can plant young trees at the surface by purchasing from local nursery.
Growing Mango Trees from Seeds
Mango Farming can be started by sowing seeds. You need fresh slit and pit, remove inside of seed and plant in a large pot. Make sure the seed is stated at ¼ inch above the surface of soil. Evenly moisture is highly desirable, place pot where temperature is 70% Fahrenheit. Sprouting will be with in starting 15 days, but in extreme condition it can take up to three weeks. Keep in consideration that the mango tree may not produce fruit for up to six years.
Taking Care of Mango Tree
Mango farming is similar to any other fruit farming. You need to check water occasionally, allow surface to dry to some inches before giving water. Start watering two months before flowering, you can resume when there are fruits.
Mango tree needs nitrogen fertilizer thrice per year, you can divided feed evenly though year. Prune when it reaches age of 4 year, remove dead and weak stems so that enough nutrients are available for strong ones.
Watch for disease and pests, you can use organic pesticides. Growing mangoes can give lifetime of business, you can also grow it at home for fresh fruits.
