How to Grow Beans at Home
Green beans have many varieties, they have different shapes, sizes, and colors. They can grow in any space and climate, all they need is little care. The challenging task for beginners will be to find seeds that are suitable for their soil and climate. There are different type of beans such as pole and bush, both are suited for different type of farming conditions. Bush beans mature faster than pole, and suitable for container garden, while pole beans climb upwards so they need a pole. The question remains how to grow different type of beans?
Grow beans at home
When the soil is warm and frost is gone, you can start the planting process. You have to plant one inch deep, and if there is arid climate then plant as deep as two inches. If you want a good harvest then plant as much as 15 for each person in your home, and when you are done planting seeds, make sure beds are watered so that there is enough moisture for seeds to emerge. Beans will do well if the soil is fertile and there is rich organic matter available for their growth, add some extra compost in beds so that they can thrive. Once beans have enough leaves on them, make sure to cover whole crop with mulch so that there is enough moisture. You need to keep temperature cooler, and remove weeds from emerging.
Exposure and Harvesting and grow beans at home
The yield will be of high quality if beans are expose to full sun. During extreme heat they tend to stop flowering so partial shade will be a good idea in this condition, but make sure to water them often otherwise there won’t be a quality harvest. Exposing to full sun will help plants to dry, and there will be less chance of disease. If plants stop flowering make sure to work on environment conditions.
Plants vary in size, bush beans grow as big as 2' taller and 1' wider. While pole beans grow straight up so their plant is as big as 10' tall.
Harvest depend on the variety so make sure to plant seeds accordingly. Usually, bush beans take 55 days to mature for harvest, while pole beans may take up to 60 days. You can check the seeds to find how many days it will take to mature under your garden conditions.
