Climate, Soil & Land
The environment and the nature of the land of the place where corn farming is going to be started must be analyzed properly. The topographical characteristics of the site must be understood. The suitable temperature to grow corn crop is about 23 degree to 30 degree Celsius (73 to 86 Fahrenheit)
To analyze the properties of the soil of the land, a sample of soil can be taken and sent to a laboratory for testing. After executing all the above steps and if it is found that the climate and land are both suitable for producing corn at that place then the ground must be prepared for sowing.
Selection of right Corn Seeds for Corn farming
There are several types of corn seeds available in the market from Standard corn; Sugary enhanced corn to Hybrid maize. Make sure to choose the right corn seeds based on your requirement.
After this, the sowing must be done. You will need about 5 kg of maize seeds on per acre of the area for planting. After sowing, the remaining portion of the land or those that are not required must be removed, and the area must be properly cleaned. Apart from this, all the other associated tasks are to be performed. After that, harvesting is to be done. After that, the post harvesting activities are to be done. After the corns are grown, they are to be stored and conserved for future use. The seeds will also save so that it can utilize for the growing season that is next. Finally, marketing is to be done so that the corn can be sold and a profit can make.
Techniques get more profit on Corn farming
Corn can be grown by planting corn seeds in the soil. This is done in the spring as mentioned above. The corn plants are planted in the hills, and a pattern is followed. To ensure the optimum growth of the corn seeds, a minimum spacing must be kept between the seeds that are located in a row, and it has been found that spacing should be at least of 2 inches to 4 inches.
Don’t use fertilizer until and unless it is very much essential. Instead of that, try to use cow dung and Neem tree’s leaf that will work as organic farming and give a better result. Additionally, Neem leaf can help to prevent several common diseases in maize plant.
Water Requirement for Corn farming (amount of water required)
To continue the harvesting method, the plantation can be performed two or three times in a season. Watering should do according to the requirements. The amount of water that is required depends on different factors, like the nature of the soil, the nature of the climate and also on the condition of the plants or seeds. It has been found that at the time of pollination more amount of water is required, at the same time, it must be taken care that the amount of water does not exceed the required amount because this additional amount of water can wash away or was down the pollens that are necessary for the fertilization.
